Right right, back to the topic. In case you haven’t heard, Intel has initiated their price cut, making life hard for AMD. The E4300 is now at RM400+++ !!! E6600 is now around RM 900. But the sweetest deal should be E6420, same speed as E6400 but with 4MB cache!!! All that for only around RM680… I think. (All price are base on rough currency conversion + typical shipment and shitz) Just check out this review from NeoSeeker and see where the new Intel processors stand in performance.

On the GPU front, AMD/ATI is adding final touches to HD2900XT, the initial benchmark has surface around the web, DailyTech for example, has whip up an easy to understand benchie about it. AMD/ATI has taken a different approach for this card, more StreamProcessor, bigger memory pipe(or watever you wanna know it as, 512bit), but less memory/core speed comparing to Nvidia’s offering. The big thing is the price, it’s offering the flagship product at 8800GTS 640mb price, will that force Nvidia to cut the price ? We’ll have to see about it.

So after all that, and all the pending counter attack, when is the best time to buy PC ? I’ll say now, the counter attacks may take months.. not worth the wait. But to be honest this has been the most interesting battle of tech since AMD64 first came out.. or GeForce 6 series first came out. I’m waiting to see how will Barcelona fair in the fight
