Incoming PC Fair early next month, a day where all the geeks sweat it out in the crowd to look for bargain, a day where you wish your significant other won’t be following you because he/she is totally not interested in geek stuff, but just to be there to nag you when you wanna buy something.

Long gone are the good old days though, if you’ve been in the geeks circle long enough, you’ll remember. You’ll remember where MicroFair was in Dome Komtar, things were never as crowded as they are, we had fun there checking out new products, Doom/StarWars games competition, poking fun on idiotic sales person who doesn’t know what they are selling (we still do that actually).

There’s more shops comparing to 12-15 years ago, we are in a bigger place called PISA. The organizer seems to try and squeeze out every last bit of space they could to earn money, hence the crowded walkway where sometimes you can’t even stop to look at things you’re interested in due to the wave of crowd. No more networked computers between shops for some multiplayer fun, no more unique new products… or rather we get every piece of news on the web nowadays hence no more surprises. No more…. lol I better stop here.

Anyway, I’m still going there, trying to check out if they brought in AMD/ATI 690G motherboard. It comes with el-cheapo x1300 onboard but the main selling point is, it comes with HDMI !!!! A very ideal media PC I would say. Also, I’m hoping to get my hands on a 320MB 8800GTS, gotta see which brand would make their appearance first. Lastly, I’ve been trying to look for a Mini Casing.. but not the expensive shuttle barebone. Would like to assemble everything from ground up myself, been asking around for those that look like Ultra MicroFly casing… value for money if you ask me that supports regular power supply instead of custom size, but apparently no one around here carries that brand, so I gotta try my luck in the fair I guess. If you happen to see me there, buy me a beer!
