Now I’m still wondering why they wanna call it Core 2 Duo instead of Conroe officially. Anyway, now that it’s available in Malaysia, I thought I’ll give people a few quick links to the articles I’ve been reading about. First up, the lower end model, E6300 and E6400. The lower price for a processor with new architecture is undeniably attractive, but you might wanna find out the differences in performance and potentials for overclocking before you jump on it. So head over to Anandtech to read up on it.

The usual sweetspot midrange E6600 info was posted previously, just head over here if you’re interested in reading it up.

Finally, the high end, the usual “I don’t think I can afford” extreme performance CPU, E6700 and E6800, extremely fast yes but I don’t think I could ever bring myself to splash that much money on. DriverHeaven has a scoop on it (and I would say their page looks nice).

any shop in penang selling core 2 duo yet? some of them have it in their pricelist, but for show only…no stock.

i want to order, but prefer to see the boxes becoz want to see which week manufacture is better at overclock (i read L25 week is better).

hi.Core 2 Dua 1.86G E6300 is stock ready at SkyGate Technology.The stock manufacture from Malaysia.em….so feel good for C2D.

Instead of buying of intel processor, AMD X2 give a better performance and value.

Why the previous Athlon XP is not called Barton or Thoroughbred? Why Pentium 4 is not called Presscott? Why? Why? WHY??? It’s becoz… These are codenames for the processors… juz like Conroe.And well.. there are rumors that the next 4 cores(Quad Core) AMD processor will be named as QuadFather and Intel’s Core 2 Quad(Quadro sounds alot better) codenamed Kentsfield.
