As you know, Nvidia give all their partners freedom over the clockspeed of their products. Hence you have companies like XFX, EVGA, BFG and Gainward providing video cards that exceed the reference specification, with warranty intact, out of the box. Now in CeBIT 2006, ATI finally agrees to let its partners overclock. More info here.
After Logitech, Creative is now showing off their version of wireless speakers. It’s not totally wireless as you still need power cable for the rear speakers but it’s good enough. Foxconn, previously a pure OEM company, that came out with their own brand of motherboards, announces that they’ll be joining the video cards industry, with both red(ATI) and green(Nvidia) in their line up. They were also showing off their Nforce 5xx AM2 motherboard in CeBIT 2006, I guess everyone is just waiting for AMD to release their new processor. There’s another talk about AMD, it seems that the delay is due to last minute engineering changes, trying to support DDR2-1066 maybe? Sweet… For those with deep pockets, Foxconn was also demonstrating their motherboard with Nvidia’s QUAD SLI, but beware as you will need a 850w PSU to run it. Still on AGP, want to upgrade, but 7800GS oo much of an overkill? Don’t worry, 7600 is also coming to AGP, supposedly this summer. On the other side, ATI announcing RV570, set to replace the ill fated X1600. Also, their new Theatre 650 tuner chip is nearly ready for those interested. Finally, enjoy some snapshots from CeBIT 2006 LEAVE A COMMENT
