I know, I know, this may not be the latest of news, but heck I just thought I’d share it anyway. There’s a new game coming out from Electronic Arts called Battlefield Heroes (Decato, told ya’ I’m plugging this!). It’s a (online) multiplayer first-person cartoon shooter under the popular ‘Battlefield’ franchise which wil be released as “Play 4 Free” sometime during summer this year.
So what’s “Play 4 Free”? Essentially the game will be made free to download, free to play and supported financially instead by advertisements on the website and in the “frontend” of the game. There will also be ‘micropayments’ or ‘micro-transactions’ available for players to buy optional items for teh purpose of customising the appearance of their avatars, without any in-game advantages of course. The gameplay will feature a simplified conquest style with 3 character classes, special abilities upon level up, etc. Hop on over to the game’s website for more and also check out the trailer below. Me and the guys will definately be giving this a spin when it comes out! LEAVE A COMMENT
